MAULANA SHAUKAT ALI
Maulana Shaukat Ali, the elder brother of Maulana Mohammad Ali Jauhar, was a committed and sincere worker of Muslim Cause and a great freedom fighter who was twice sentenced to imprisonment by the British Government.
He served as trustee and later as President of the Aligarh College Board as well as Secretary and chief Organizer of Central Khuilafat committee. He led the boycott of the Simon Commission in 1927 and strongly opposed the Nehru Report in 1928. He attended the Round table Conference and the World Muslim Conference in Jerusalem in 1932. He was a member of Muslim League Parliamentary Board. He remained in Legislative Assembly from 1936 to 1938.
